About the Firm

In 1919, two distinguished Capital District attorneys, William C. Maynard and Gerald W. O’Connor formed a partnership for the practice of law, which set into motion the successful growth of a prominent upstate New York law firm. Since that time, the “Maynard, O’Connor” law firm has provided a wide ranging general practice of legal services to individuals and businesses throughout the greater Upstate and Eastern regions of New York.

Within this region, Maynard, O’Connor has maintained multiple offices through the years, which has enabled us to offer the highest level of service for the convenience of our clients. Early in the history of the firm, offices were maintained in Albany and Schenectady. In the mid 1960's, an additional office was opened in Saugerties, NY, which became the base from which our named partner, Michael E. Catalinotto, began his career of exemplary legal service. Over time, our Schenectady office closed, and in the late 1990's, a satellite office was opened in Johnstown, NY. We currently maintain fully staffed offices at 6 Tower Place in Albany, Rte. 9W in Saugerties, and at 122 West Main Street in Johnstown, to best serve our clients within the surrounding areas.

Since the firm’s inception, a substantial portion of our practice has centered on the broad area of civil litigation in both New York State and Federal Courts. Throughout this entire period of time, we have also offered comprehensive legal services in the areas of Business and Corporate Law, Construction Law and Litigation, Criminal Law, Family Law, Professional Licensing, and Trusts and Estates.

Our firm has been existence for over 85 years. Over these many years, we have established a sound reputation with the businesses, professionals and courts within the greater Upstate and Eastern regions of New York.
